Anna Sohlberg

Eucomed eHealth taskforce and CRM Telemonitoring working group member Health economics and reimbursement manager Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management Medtronic Europe

Anna Sohlberg is health economics manager at Medtronic Europe with a responsibility for eHealth solutions for cardiac disease patients. Anna is supporting the clinical and health economics evidence development for Medtronic eHealth solutions, as well working towards the establishment of reimbursement for remote disease management; to enable sustainable funding for all stakeholders engaged in eHealth.

Anna is a member of the EUCOMED eHealth working group and telemonitoring working group.

Before joining Medtronic in 2009, Anna was project manager at the Department for HTA and Clinical guidelines at the National Board of Health and Welfare in Sweden. Anna was part of the development of the HTA and guideline methodology in the Board, and she was also project manager for a number of health technology assessments, including for stroke and breast cancer.

Anna has a Master’s degree in political science from Uppsala University in Sweden and a degree in health economics from the European School of Health Economics.

It’s not the technology stupid! (Or what eHealth should do to go from promise to reality)

Two weeks ago I attended the eHealth 2012 conference in Copenhagen, along with 2 500 other delegates, policy makers, providers, industry and many others. Coming out of there, my strongest take-away is the amazing opportunities innovation in technology can bring -for patient empowerment, improved health and more efficient provision of care – and the frustratingly slow pace at which it is being adopted in the health care system.
